Prof. Olivier Basso

Olivier Basso is co-founder of Aden Executives.

Olivier Basso has developed extensive experience in designing and facilitating International Executive Programs for executives and high flyers in several large companies (L’Oréal, Thalès, ST Microelectronics, EDF, Rexam, Vivendi, EADS, Sodexo…).

As an academic Director, he designs innovative programs and works with a wide range of experts (academics, consultants, artists, coaches, philosophers…) and has a knack for pulling them together to form a tightly knit team, an essential condition for delivering seamless programs.

As an expert, Olivier’ core focus is on how to stimulate an entrepreneurial spirit within large organizations, at individual and collective levels. To meet the needs of specific projects, he adopts different postures (scholar, coach, facilitator…) and frequently manages strategic projects integrating a range of learning modules.

With Sabine Henrichfreise, he recently developed Unique-Labs, an innovative approach to collective coaching dedicated to helping leaders of change to accelerate the implementation of new success strategies, to create new solutions for real business challenges in real time and to explore new ways of being a leader in a complex and fast moving environment.

He is currently serving as General Secretary of the French Academy of Management, an organization focused on enabling professors and researchers in management to contribute proactively to shaping the institutional setting of their academic field.

He is a co-founder of the Cercle de l’Institut de l’entreprise dedicated to CAC 40 top executives,in their forties, mostly members of Executive Committees.

He has written numerous books and articles on intrapreneurship and leadership.

As a former Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship at ESCP Europe, O. Basso has taught extensively in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Change Management, both as the academic director of a specialized Master’s program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and as a professor in MBA programs. He has also participated in executive joint-programs designed with international institutions such as Duke University, Babson College and ESADE.

While at the ESCP Europe, Olivier co-founded the interdisciplinary program “Comprendre pour Agir”(Institutd’Expertise de l’ENS), which invites company executives to dialogue with researchers in the human sciences, with a view to enriching their reading scales and challenge their frames of thinking.

Before pursuing an academic career, O. Basso was a co-founder and Principal in a strategy-consulting boutique, assisting French start-ups both in strategy formulation and in business-plan design and implementation.

Olivier holds both a Master of Philosophy and a Ph.D in Management (with honors) from La Sorbonne University (Paris I), and has been qualified for supervising Ph.D. candidates (“Habilitation”). He is an alumnus of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm) and a graduate of HEC Paris (PIM MBA exchange program at ESADE and Ann Arbor University).
